Alix Walker
Alec · Alexis (pre-birth)Description
About
A British-Polish Deveraux agent, Alix's talent lies in her ability to unite people - be they her friends, colleagues, or family. She could only be described as a social character, although she has slowly learnt to deal with being alone for large periods on missions. Following her mother's death, in the last few years Alix has begun to strongly embrace her Polish side in an effort to bring her closer to her mother's roots.
Appearance
Alix's defining physical feature, in her own opinion, is her hair; short, jet-black, and artificially straightened, it's every bit as tomboy as she is. This dark band of hair stands in stark contrast to her pale skin and electric-blue eyes. At 5'2¼", Alix is at best average for her build, a fact she's very aware of and was once an issue for her, with her often feeling uncomfortable when around the abnormally-tall population of Deveraux. Much like her hair, Alix's choice of clothing reflects her boyish personality. When on her own time she can be found wearing stylish Camo gear, a style which went out of fashion long ago and has still to make its much-rumoured comeback.
Personality
A trait she most definitely inherited from her father (much to her mother's disdain), Alix is very easy to get on with, unless you piss her off. From the start, Alix never felt as though she fitted in at Deveraux - most likely because, not there as an agent like all the others her age, she didn't. This bothered Alix, making it especially hard to make friends with anyone her own age. Despite this, she resolutely refused to change, only making friends when she was finally admitted to Newbolt Wing. Add to that the determination she fostered whilst being denied admittance into Newbolt and you have the essence of what makes Alix the agent she is. Despite her determination to succeed, Alix is still a very easy-going agent, a contributing factor to her popularity.
Although Alix couldn't stand sport, from an early age she fell in love with Parkour, the art of freerunning. For a 'sport' whose popularity waned many years ago when technology began to make it obsolete, Alix's mastery has impressed many at Deveraux, and she's still campaigning for the Board to make it an option for all students.
History
To have been called Alexis but for her mother's last-minute intervention, Alix Walker was born and raised in London by her mother, an aspiring artist, and her father, one of Deveraux's British Selector Agents. Although her mother was keen to raise Alix amidst British culture, she desired her daughter to have an equal awareness of her Polish heritage. It would only be in later life that her daughter, too, desired this, for at the age of thirteen Alix found herself without a mother. Krystyna Walker, refusing to hand over her her handbag in an attempted mugging, was stabbed in the chest three times by her female assailant. Less than a month later Alix found herself plucked from her roots as her father, on what appeared to her at the time as something of a whim, took a live-in post at the Deveraux College in the United States.
It took Alix two years of pestering Colin Johnson and continually proving herself before she was granted admittance to the College's Newbolt Wing. After the two hardest years of her life, Alix Walker graduated to the post of Roaming Agent, finding herself straddling most of Europe as a Roja agent.

Unable to carry on living in London as he was at the time, Mark took the live-in Tech position at the Deveraux College when his wife, Krystyna, was murdered. He brought with him Alix, the couple's thirteen-year-old daughter, who later joined the Newbolt Wing. Mark is one of those people who's not happy unless he's helping someone, a fact that makes his job at Deveraux a prefect match for his personality.
Average and visually uninspiring, there's much more lurking behind Tom Cameron than you'd ever expect. This well travelled, London-based photographer is also unexpectedly an avid 'urban explorer' and well versed traceur. Tom has dated Alix Walker for the past two years, though both retain separate residences, maintaining that neither wishes to forfeit theirs in 'moving in together'.
An aspiring Polish artist, Krystyna moved to Britain in her early twenties for what she perceived to be greater career prospects. Although she made a fair living with her art, Krystyna never quite achieved the career heights she had always aimed for. After less than a year of dating Mark Walker, the two married and shortly after Krystyna fell pregnant with Alix. Mere days after her daughter's thirteenth birthday Krystyna was stabbed to death when she refused to hand over her handbag in an attempted mugging. Fleeing from the scene of the crime, her attacker left behind her Krystyna and her untouched, blood-soaked handbag in an act which would see Mark turn his back on London for good.
A baker by trade, Artur is Alix's dziadek - her maternal grandfather. Although he was due to retire three years ago, Artur has refused to close or sell his bakery, insisting that as long as people purchase his goods Zawadzkie PiekarniaZawadzki's Bakery shall open every day without fail. Both proud and fond of his granddaughter, Artur keeps has suggested many a time that she ought to stop flirting with journalism and return to Poland to join him in partnership. Although the subject was rarely broached between them, until she moved to London, Arthur wished Krystyna, his only daughter, to inherit the business.
Katarzyna, Alix's maternal grandmother, is a retired nurse from Józefosław in Poland. Although Alix and Artur are the closer of her mother's parents, she is still deeply fond of her babcia. Katarzyna enjoys spending time with her only granddaughter, spoiling her even into her twenties, and is keen for Mark and Alix to visit her again soon.
