Cameron Davis

Always feeling like the odd one out since the age of seven, Cam is a very individual person. Protective over his sister Ellie, Cam just tries to deal with what comes along as it happens. He commonly jokes around to hide his feelings, especially when he feels like he has been burnt.

Cam is quite tall and has quite a lanky frame. His hair is dark brown, his skin is always tanned due to sun reflecting off the snow in the winter and he has brown eyes. He has a crooked nose from a fight he got into when he was younger where his nose got punched, breaking it. It was never reset and is now so much a part for Cam that he hasn't even considered having it redone. He ran a lot between the ages of 10 and 14, which made it feel like to him that he could leave everything behind and he didn't have to depend on anything or anyone. Due to this he has strong muscles in his legs.

Cam is a bit of a womaniser, which is a hard thing to be called in a town with a population of less than a thousand people. He seems to have a knack for telling lots of jokes which hides his ruthless side from people when they first meet him. If you are going to get in the way of what he wants to do, Cam doesn't care whether your feelings are hurt. It is only afterwards that he considers the consequences of his actions on other people and their feelings. Though he can be ruthless, Cameron does have a heart deep down. He feels that he is very much his own individual person, and he isn't really influenced by many people.

He was born in Tuktoyaktuk which is in the far north of Canada, inside the Arctic Circle. This means that for parts of the year there is no sun and for other parts the sun stays above the horizon. He was born to a single mother, as his father had disappeared as soon as he found out that she was pregnant with his child. He grew up with his mother on her own for seven years before his mother met someone else. Sometimes it was tough for Cam's mother but she always managed to cope and Cam couldn't stand the fact that he would no longer have his mother's sole attention. They married a year later. His step-dad Chris already had four children from another marriage - Chris Junior and the triplets, Adrien, Bernard and Celine - and Cam's family suddenly grew very big in size, with him being the eldest. Cam learned to resent Chris and most of his step-brothers and sisters. His mother later became pregnant again but this time by Chris, and gave birth to Ellie, though his mother later died due to the childbirth complications.

Cam's family now numbered 6 children ranging from 0 to 11 years old; multiple births led to all the children being quite close together in age. Cam always felt the isolated one, "the one left over". Ellie was the only person that Cam really connected with as she was his only blood relative left in the family. As he got older especially after his twelfth birthday his relationship with Chris deteriorated. He only gets along with Chris now for Ellie's sake as it is her father but other than that he tries to have nothing to do with him. There is a very "us" and "them" mentality in Cam's family, which is increased by the fact that Cam would not change his second name to Rousseau. This carried on for a year until Cam was 13. Once Cam had turned 13 Chris had seen Cam as a wild child that had to be brought under control which worked for just over a year before Cam started rebelling - going out and not coming back until the next morning, and generally being moody and swearing. Chris actually believed that Cam was up to a lot worse than he actually was. Chris had imagined Cam terrorising the local neighbours and using drink and drugs to escape. The truth was Cam just wandered around the streets wrapped in his coat just wasting time; he only really did it to get one up on his step-dad. He was jokingly known as the "Womaniser of Tuk" due to the fact he had gone out with pretty much every girl in town, which wasn't really that many but these relationships never really lasted for long. It was when he was wandering around Tuktoyaktuk, that he noticed a group of kids that were younger than him being offered to buy drugs. He didn't really take much notice until it turned from offering drugs to practically forcing the kids to buy drugs. Cam step in between the kids and the drug dealers, telling them to leave off or he would report them to the police. Feeling intimidated the drug dealers slouched off. This was noticed by a Selector Agent for Deveraux who had become lost in North Canada on an expedition.
