About
Found wandering on a roundabout aged six, Charlie has been in and out of foster care - mainly staying with the Cretney-Quayle family. He lived through such a constant cycle of crystal meth highs and periods of withdrawal with his parents that he was glad to be offered a place at Deveraux. He finds it very hard to make attachments, always knowing that at some point they will desert him and he will have to fend for himself. He has learnt to cover this by pretending he is people's mates even though he has no connection with them. Having just graduated, he is now living in Venice with his handler Stefan Müller.

An Austrian living on the Italian island of Venice, Stefan Müller is an experienced Deveraux Handler and former Field Agent. He has had a long and prosperous marriage to Addolorata, an Italian matriarch who owns and operates Camera dell'ospite del D'AmatoD'Amato's Guest House out of which Stefan operates. Stefan and Addolorata have three children of their own, and a long-term foster child.
A part-time fire fighter, Samantha with her partner decided to foster when they heard of the number of children who just needed a place to stay. Having first looked after Charlie aged 6, she always made sure she had space for him even if it was when he was removing himself from his parents due to their latest high. She just wished there was more she could.
Gabriel enjoys his job as a refuse collector; the job asks very little of him and the hours couldn't be more generous, giving him more time to spend with Sam and the kids. With his long term partner, he is also a foster carer. Gabriel understands that while they can't help everyone they can make a difference to a child's life even if it is just for a short period of time. He agrees with Samantha that the door will always be open for Charlie.
Chardonnay met her husband at the local park when they were just teenagers. While never an angel when younger she got involved with drugs through William. When she fell pregnant at 16, if anything she was proud much to the dismay of her parents. The malcare of her son was first noticed when he attended nursery due to his dirty clothes but it wasn't until he was found on a roundabout aged six that the extent of their drug habit was understood. She barely mourned that her son kept being taken away from them. He just got in the way.
William Teare had always dabbled in soft drugs from a young age and met his wife, Chardonnay, at a park when they were 15. Charlie was completely unplanned but William and Chardonnay had a shotgun wedding. To say he was neglectful of his son would be putting it mildly, especially after his addiction to crystal meth developed when Charlie was two years old. Most of the time he barely realised that his son was there. He didn't think it was a great loss when Charlie was in foster care, nor when he went away from school. If anything it meant more money for meth.
