Description

Appearance

Everything about Simon Evans is average. From his height to his build. From his shoes to his suit. Average. And yet, he wonders why he's bored with his life. Although he once dyed it blond (at the time he thought it would make him appear more dynamic, though he was much mistaken and the look was short lived), Simon's short hair is a dark brown - much the same as his rather worn eyes.

Personality

They say life begins at 40, but Simon is still waiting...

Perhaps a remnant from his days in law, Simon is a stickler for the rules - almost to the point of bureaucracy. It is likely that his time at Deveraux will show him that, as honest as the intentions of law may be, it is not always possible, or wise, to follow them to the word. For Simon, this paradigm shift will take more than a little getting used to.

Simon is a caring individual and often agonises over which decision will have the least impact on everybody. It is this thoughtfulness and caring which is perhaps his most redeeming feature over his boringness.

A member of the Church of Christ, Simon is, perhaps, more God-fearing than God-loving. Whilst he always wishes to do what is right, it is sometimes more that he wishes to do what is right for the sake of being right than because it is simply the right thing to do.

History

Simon hails from Bolgoed, Swansea, southern Wales. At the age of twenty two, Simon married local girl Jane Thomas, whom he had been dating since his eighteenth birthday. Almost a dozen years into their marriage Jane fell pregnant with their first child, Izzy, and followed through just two years later with their second child, Annie. A proud, dedicated father, Simon would do anything for his girls and has a habit of being a little over-protective at times.

After six years of family life in Wales, Simon uprooted his family and moved to Washington D.C.. At the time he told his wife that it was to further his career, though in actual fact he thought that a move across the Atlantic might do him some good. Whilst it worked in the short run, Simon soon became bored once more and two years later moved yet again - this time to the cultural home of America: New York City. It was here that Simon settled, finding the city more vibrant than both Wales and D.C..

Other than his family life, Simon's practising of Law has been the only part of his life that he has not been bored with and attempted to change. Until recently, at any rate. For several years Simon had various legal dealings with the Deveraux Organisation, helping them out of trouble here, convincing a client it wasn't in his interest to follow through there. Over the time of the relationship he gradually learnt more and more about the Organisation, from the original whispers of assurance that he was doing the right thing in his ear, to solid confirmation: the Deveraux Organisation dealt in espionage for the common good. And so, when he heard of the opening for a new leader he jumped at the chance to audition. Simon saw this as the chance to inject some action into his life and, much the orator, convinced the Board of his suitability to the post, explaining how being new to the post wouldn't be a hindrance, but rather a chance to inject new approaches and a more modern form of leadership into the Organisation. The only problem is, Simon managed to also convince himself that what he was saying was true... and, by God, is he in for a shock.
