Noah Scott
Noa'Description
About
Despite having gained a significant amount of worldly experience from his travels, Noah is quite naïve to what goes on around him and purposefully acts ignorant of the true purpose of the school where he teaches. He doesn't particularly care about the opinions other people have of him and often does little to change them. Nonetheless, he has settled quite well into his routine as Deveraux's Geography teacher, often winding up his best friend, Jake, and trying to be some sort of boyfriend to Kiri.
Appearance
Noah has distinctive blond dreadlocks, bleached light due to the amount of time he spends in the sun - he also has a near-enough permanent tan for the same reason. Of average height and build, Noah has the trademark baby blue eyes to match his blond hair. He prefers to wear combats and the cleanest shirt he can find most of the time. 'It is better to be comfortable than to be smart' is his opinion on his style of dress.
Personality
Noah shows he has always been laid back and up for a laugh but can be serious when the situation calls for it. The youngest member of the staff by quite a few years, Noah likes to party when the chance presents itself but has calmed down considerably since his earlier years of travelling the world alone. Noah's very idealistic and this can lead him to struggling to accept that sometimes people are not quite what they seem, or who they say they are. Noah also has a reluctance to accept other people's ideas and can be too self-confident about what he actually knows. If prompted to he can easily describe his life but only summarises. It was normality for him as he didn't know anything different other than travelling constantly.
He has a strong dislike of coffee, never really understanding why some people drink so much of it. He prefers to get natural highs but isn't against using weed for a bit of a relaxation though he hasn't for a few years, much to the surprise of some people.
History
Noah's parents were Geological Surveyors and so he spent much of his childhood travelling the world with them. He really did bring the phrase living out of a suitcase (or in Noah's case, a backpack) to life. He was born in Wellington, New Zealand during his parents' quick break from work. As soon as he was three months old they resumed their travelling.
When his parents decide to settle down Noah stopped travelling but only lasted at most two months until he decided to continue at the age of 17 and so by the age of 21 had been to most of the countries of the world. He has been to the usual backpacker hot spots like Australia as well as some more unusual ones like Iceland and Denmark. He had many experiences while travelling on his own that some he loves to reminisce about; others he is not so keen to remember. The one he wishes that truly never happened was involving a grass skirt in Hawaii. He picked up spare jobs where he could to earn himself some money to survive a few weeks before disappearing off to the next location. Due to this he has never had more than three permanent girlfriends (though numerous one night stands) and even then they could be considered as flings.
Originally taught by his parents, Noah found he had a natural flair for Geography and so pursued it online to degree level from Victoria University, Wellington while he travelled. He got the job at Deveraux soon after graduating. After his extensive travelling, Noah has never really felt at home in any place he's stayed. According to his passport he is a Kiwi but prefers not to label himself as a national from one country.

Kiri Albright has such an ebullient personality that people tend to either get along very well with her or find themselves abhorring her every word. Kiri is currently working at her local grocery store while in pursuit of her dream of becoming a primary school teacher. In her own words, Kiri couldn't see herself doing anything but teaching young children. She originally envisioned herself returning home to the British Virgin Islands once having achieved this goal but has recently re-evaluated this idea as she settles into life in Boston.
A native New Zealander, Alice met Martin Scott while at university. She went on to become a Geological Surveyor with her husband and was soon travelling the world. She didn't let being pregnant stop her or having a young child stop her and as a consequence her son was frequently travelling around. It was only when Noah was seventeen that she settled down with Martin in New Zealand. While a frequent traveller she prefers to have one place to call home now that she is advancing in age.
Having met Alice at University, Martin enjoyed the fact that they could give their son a vibrant and vivid upbringing. He home schooled Noah and was pleased when he developed a passion for geography. Though he yearns to travel around, he finds that staying in one country is a lot easier for you when you get older.
Technology-obsessed urbanist and Bay Stater, Jake James is the Deveraux College's unorthodox Tech teacher. Jake is both an ardent follower and early adopter of technology; in terms of fashion he is a trend observer and occasional follower. He's a social creature and is rarely happier than when he is spending time around his friends and family. A laid-back soul, Jake revels in playing the joker among his peers and often struggles to take life seriously, even when he acknowledges it would be to his advantage to.
