Aart van Rijn adopted Piraat, a silver tabby cat, shortly after graduating from the Deveraux College. Piraat was a wee kitten at the time, and four years on Aart is still enthused by Piraatje, taking time out of every day to fuss his moggie. Piraat, whose name is Dutch for Pirate, was named on something of a whim.
