Sara Ildri Heiðarsdóttir
Description
Appearance
Her middle name, Ildri, means 'Fire and Peace', and it's quite suiting. Her eyes are a deep shade of auburn and they remain young and vibrant, despite all the things they have seen. Her face is calm but not inviting, beautiful but not striking. Her long blonde hair clashes oddly with her eyes - she's never cared enough to dye it or wear contacts, though. Her face is one of contrast, as is her personality.
Personality
Sara is the kind of girls that guys approach often, and quickly regret it if they're sober. She talks, a lot. She can talk about anything. She can talk about shopping or celebrities with her friends, or politics and utopian societies with her fellow Delegates. Being unfamiliar with what she's talking about isn't much of a problem either - she'll often bullshit decent responses until she can change the subject.
A therapist might say she's covering up her pain; Sara insists it was never there, though. She says she was never angry at her father, or even sad that he left. Sara believes that a man who would choose corrupt power over his family was no father at all, and keeps her surname only as a sign of respect for her Icelandic culture. She's fluent in Icelandic, but she usually only uses it for cursing these days.
Although a tried and true member of the Delegates of Themis, Sara has no delusions of grandeur and doesn't care to die a martyr. She'd like to make the world a better place, but doesn't see the point if she's not around to see it.
History
Born in Bíldudalur, Iceland, Sara learned at an early age that the world wasn't fair. Born into a poor family in a country that had seen better days, Sara didn't have a great childhood. Her dad, Heiðar, was always working and her mom wasn't the kind of mother you'd snuggle with. Listening to her parents talk about the government made her wonder why such a thing existed. The only people that liked it were the ones that were in it.
One of those people soon was her father. Heiðar chose to become involved in politics at the recommendation of several friends who heard the way he spoke about the government. He was a very articulate man and planned to make his family proud. He started out as a liberal trying to change the government, but soon became another tool of the agenda, spewing positives messages of changes he knew would never come. Sara and her mother often talked about it while he wasn't home, but her mother never said anything to him. Sara never knew how to be angry at him; she just couldn't talk to him any more. It was like he was a different person. Sara came to America the day she turned eighteen and calls her mother once or twice a year, hanging up if her father picks up.
